That's not my job
*This is a story about four people named
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done, and
Everybody thought Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry that, because it was
Everybody's job.
Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but
Nobody realised that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody
when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.*
*It doesn't matter
who you are,
where you come
from. The ability
to triumph
begins with you –
always.*
Oprah Winfrey
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and
love You! I ask pardon of You for all
those who do not believe, do not adore,
do not hope and do not love You!"
"Most Holy Trinity; Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and
I offer You the most precious Body,
Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus
Christ, present in all tabernacles of the
world, in reparation for the outrages,
sacrifices and indifferences with which
He Himself is offended. And, through
the infinite merits of His most Sacred
Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of
Mary, I beg of You the conversion
of poor sinners."

May God make our new year a happy one!
Not by shielding us from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening us to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making our path easy,
But by making us sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from us,
But by taking fear from our heart;
Not by granting us unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping our face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making our life always pleasant,
But by showing us when people
and their causes need us most,
and by making us anxious to be there to help.
God's love, peace, hope and joy to us
for the year ahead.

*A heart that's always listening and a mind that's
always learning gets tired. And when you're tired,
you need to rest. Being kind enough to give yourself
a break is the wise thing to do. Know that you:*
- *Aren't responsible for fixing everything that's
broken.*
- *Don't have to please everyone.*
- *Don't have to have everything figured out.*
- *Have permission to rest - as long as you're the one
who gives yourself permission.*
*Rest for you could look like moving slower as you
clean the house or being mindful while you make a
meal. It probably means being nicer to yourself.*
*If you're not resting, you're not healing.*

Sliocht as leabhar Ísála fáidh. 55:10-11.
Seo mar a deir an Tiarna: "Mar a thagann báisteach agus an sneachta anuas ó na spéartha agus nach bhfilleann siad suas arís gan an talamh a fhágáil ar maos agus fás agus méadú a chur ann, ionas go dtugann sé síol don síoladóir agus arán le hithe, is amhlaidh don bhriathar a thagann as mo bhéal, ní fhilleann sé orm gan toradh, gan mo thoil a dhéanamh agus mo bheart a chur i gcrích."
Briathar an Tiarna.
FR. Buíochas do Dhia.
Thit an síol ar an talamh maith agus thug toradh uaidh.
Sliocht as litir Naomh Pól chuig na Rómhánaigh.
8:18-23.
A bhráithre, measaim nach fiú piantaí na huaire seo le taobh na ghlóire atá le foilsiú dúinn ar ball. Mar tá an dúlra féin faoi dhaoirse agus sclábhaíocht agus ag dréim le foilsiú chlann Dé. Cuireadh an dúlra fosta ó rath, ní dá dheoin féin ach mar gheall ar an té úd a chuir ó rath é. Ach bhí dóchas ann i gcónaí go bhfuasclófaí an dúlra féin ón meath agus an daoirse ina raibh sé, agus go mbeadh sé rannpháirteach i saoirse ghlórmhar chlann Dé. Tá a fhios againn go raibh an dúlra go léir go dtí anois i ndaoirse agus ina sclábhaí le tinneas. Ní hé an dúlra amháin atá amhlaidh ach sinne féin chomh maith. Tá muidinne fosta tinn inár gcroí istigh agus sinn ag feitheamh le go ndéanfar clann Dé dín agus go mbeidh ár gcorp fuascailte.
Briathar an Tiarna.
FR. Buíochas do Dhia.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Is fírinne do bhriathar, a Thiarna.
Déan sinn a naomhú san fhírinne.
Alleluia!
Sliocht as an Soiscéal naofa de réir Naomh Maitiú.
13:1-9.
Tháinig Íosa amach as an teach an lá sin agus shuigh cois na farraige agus tháinig sluáite chomh mór sin chuige, ionnas go ndeachaigh sé i mbád agus gur shuigh intí. Sheasaigh an sluá go léir ar an chladach agus labhair sé leo i mórán parabal. Dúirt sé: "Chuaigh

an curadóir amach a chur síl. Ag cur an tsíl dó, thit cuid de ar thaobh an bhóthair agus tháinig éanlaith á ithe suas. Thit cuid eile de ar na creagacha, áit nach raibh mórán cré agus d'fhás siad aníos láithreach, de bhrí nach raibh doimhne chré acu agus nuair a d'éirigh an ghrian, scalladh iad agus fuair siad bás. Thit tuilleadh acu frid dhreasógaí agus d'fhás na dreasógaí gur phlúch siad iad. Ach bhí cuid eile de a thit ar an talamh maith agus thug sé toradh uaidh, toradh faoi chéad in áit, faoi sheasca in áit eile, faoi thriocha in áit eile. An té a bhfuil cluasa air, éisteadh sé. Soiscéal an Tiarna.

To mark the 125th Anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral of Saints Eunan and Columba, Letterkenny, the Holy See has granted a Plenary Indulgence under the usual conditions. It may be obtained as follows: The Plenary Indulgence may be obtained under the usual conditions by any of the faithful who, rightly disposed, participate in the liturgical life of the Cathedral with the intention of gaining the Indulgence, beginning with the Mass of Chrism on Holy Thursday of this year and concluding with the feast of the Epiphany, 6th January 2027. The same Indulgence may be obtained by the sick and others who, unable to leave their homes, participate spiritually in the same liturgical services by electronic means.
The Indulgence may be gained under the usual conditions by all who piously come on pilgrimage to the Cathedral in the aforementioned period with that purpose in mind.
The same Indulgence is extended to those who wish to obtain it by spending at least one hour in Eucharistic Adoration at the St. Pius X Chapel of Perpetual Adoration in the grounds of the Cathedral.
To obtain an indulgence, the usual conditions of detachment from all sin, Sacramental Confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Pope must be met within 7 days.
EMPATHY, simply put, is compassionate understanding in action. When guided by emotional intelligence, it helps us read what is happening beneath the surface so we can respond to others with the attentive, truthful mercy of the eyes of Christ. Visit tiny.cc/EMP26
POWER OF PRAYER: One of the fruits that a life of prayer emits is a greater awareness of the presence of God within the ordinary rhythm of daily life. At various times throughout the day - without deliberate effort or planning - God seems to make his presence felt more vividly, almost by surprise. Visit tiny.cc/POFP

12Ú Iúil 2026 - AN Cúigiú DOMHNACH DEAG - A
Jesus' favourite way of teaching was by using stories or parables. A story makes truth more approachable and leads us to discover it for ourselves. And it also makes it more memorable. We recall a story much more readily than an abstract discourse. Today's gospel reading from Matthew narrates the familiar parable of the sower and the different kinds of soil on which the seed falls. This story encourages us to reflect on our lives and our response to the good news of God's loving reign. It invites each of us to ask: What kind of soil am I? Am I receptive to God's word? Do I nurture it regularly and carefully? Do I let it penetrate my heart, so that I become God's co-worker in the birth of a new creation?
The problem is that we so often don't pay enough attention to that word or let it take root in the soil of our hearts. That soil can become dry and hard through neglect, or get choked with weeds – and there are a lot of weeds around in these days. It may require clearing and cultivation to become receptive to the seed of God's word. For most of us, the cultivation of the soil of our hearts remains a constant and demanding challenge but, as Isaiah reminds us in today's first reading, we must not lose heart. God's word will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. And that purpose, as our second reading today makes clear, includes the transformation of all created things. 'From the beginning till now the entire creation, as we know, has been groaning in one great act of giving birth' (Rom 8: 21). We have a God-given responsibility to work for a renewed creation. While it is God who ultimately liberates and transforms, we are invited to be his active representatives, working with him, and under his authority, to develop, heal, and restore the created world.

Hello and blessings to all in Templecrone Parish. This
weekend I hand over the reigns of the Kincasslagh
Parish to the very capable Fr. Vincent Finnegan OFM
after 30 years of fulfilling service there. I hope and pray
that I can serve the people of "the Upper Parish" as
happily as I did them. I'm no stranger to most of you,
and I'm sure we will find the path the Lord wants us to
take together in the next number of years.
