## Prayers of the Angel
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You! I ask pardon of You for all those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You!"
"Most Holy Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners."
Human wisdom says don't put off until tomorrow what can be done today. But I tell you, that those who know how to put off until tomorrow are most agreeable to God. They who sleep like a child are also they who sleep like my darling Hope. So, I tell you, put off until tomorrow those worries and those troubles which are gnawing at you today, and might very well devour you today. Put off until tomorrow those sobs that choke you when you see today's unhappiness, those sobs that rise up and strangle you. Put off until tomorrow those tears that fill your eyes and your head, flooding you, rolling down your cheeks. Because, between now and tomorrow, maybe God will have passed your way. Blessed are those who put it off, that is to say, blessed are they who hope and who sleep.

Lord Jesus, I give you my hands to do your work;
I give you my feet to go your way,
I give you my eyes to see as you do,
I give you my tongue to speak your words,
I give you my mind, Lord, that you may think in me,
I give you my spirit that you may pray in me,
Above all,
Lord, I give you my heart,
that you may love in me your Father and all humankind
I give you my whole self that you may grow in me,
So that it is you, Lord Jesus,
Who live and work and pray in me.

We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.

Bless all fathers and grandfathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience, give them the ability to love in a way that reflects your love. Support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation. Help us to love them in a way that would bring honor to You and them. Welcome
Fr Vincent Finnegan called last Sunday to have a look at his new parish appointment. He is looking forward to serving the people of this parish in the future, including the people of Arranmore. To that end, he is going to go to Arranmore on Sunday on the 11.30 Ferry to offer Mass in St. Crona's @ 12.30pm each Sunday. To
accommodate this we need to have you Sunday Mass in the Parish at 10am, starting on the weekend of 11th & 12th of July. As he will remain on the Island for a night, Fr. Matt has kindly agreed to do a Monday Mass in St. Columba's @ 10am Monday 13th July instead of his usual Tuesday Mass.

Help Needed
Those responsible for keeping the St. Columba's Church clean and tidy are looking for a Volunteer to Vacuum under the seats twice a month in the chapel, preferably a man as it involves a little bit of manoeuvring of the kneelers to get the job done. The Altar Society will continue to clean the alter and look after the flowers weekly. Please contact the above numbers or Margaret Rose if you or a group or you can undertake this task.

The "Vocations Monstrance" is part of the Church's ongoing commitment to promote and foster vocations to the priesthood and to religious life. The monstrance will be in various churches in the Diocese to encourage prayer for vocations and to deepen young people's awareness of God's call in their lives. Through prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, we ask the Lord to raise up generous and joyful servants for His Church. Vocations are born in prayer, sustained by prayer, and strengthened through prayer. Any parish wishing to have the "Vocations Monstrance" during these 2 weeks, please contact Fr Rory Brady at vocations@raphoediocese.ie.

# Day for Life
Today, Sunday 21st June the Church across Ireland celebrates Day for Life on the theme The Humanity of the Unborn Child which invites us to reflect on the wonder of human life from the moment of conception. We remember how the Lord Jesus Christ Himself sanctified and experienced the beginning of life in the world as an unborn child, hidden in the womb of Mary. Mary knew that she was carrying the Son of God - God and man - as soon as He was conceived. John the Baptist leapt in his mother Elizabeth's womb when Mary greeted her. Our Lady treasured Our Lord in her heart and womb until His birth. To read full bishops' message visit councilforlife.ie

# Thought for the Day
"O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life. Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time.
To the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life."

Vocations Monstrance (Blessed by Pope Leo) in the Diocese of Raphoe from 4th July to the 21st.
The Monstrance will be in Cathedral in Letterkenny.

Thoughts on the Readings for the 12th Sunday June 21st 2026
In today's Gospel, Jesus tells the Twelve: ...have no fear... In times of uncertainty about the future it is not surprising that many show signs of fear and anxiety. The words of Jesus may sound good, but do they give any real reassurance in times of trouble? Much of the fear and anxiety of people today is about their material security, even when times are good. Perhaps times are good now, but will they last? The Gospel is not terribly concerned with that. In the ideal Christian community, material security will not be a major problem because believers will take care of each other and share their resources with those in need. The fact that such sharing communities are not very common makes one wonder how much real Christianity in practice exists! The readings today are concerned with a rather different problem, namely, what happens when the living of the gospel is taken seriously. We are being reminded that to become a follower of Christ in the full sense (as opposed to just a churchgoing Catholic) and to spread his message of love, justice and peace in word and practice will be seen by some people as a real threat to be resisted.

# AN DARA DOMHNACH DÉAG A
## AN CHÉAD LÉACHT
Sliocht as leabhar larimia fáidh. 20:10-13.
Cluinim cuid mhór daoine ‘mo cháineadh;
’Eagla ar achan taobh! Cáinigi é! Cáinimis é!’
Tá na daoine a bhí mór liom am amháin anois ag súil
go dtitfidh mé. ‘B’fhéidir go meallfaí é!
Ansin gheobhaimid an bhuaidh air agus bainfimid
díoltas amach air.’ Ach tá an Tiarna liom-sa, gaiscioch
cumhachtach. Ar an ábhair sin, titfidh siad seo atá
m’ionsaí, buailfear iad; beidh siad fríd a chéile.
Ní dhéanfar dearmad go brách ar a náire shíoraí.
Ó! a Thiarna na slua, a scrúdaíonn go fírinneach,
a amharcann go domhain isteach sa chroí, lig domh an
díoltas a bhainfeas tusa amach orthu a fheiceáil,
mar is duit-se a d’fhoilsigh mé mo chúis. Canaigí don
Tiarna; molaigí an Tiarna; óir shaor sé anam an duine
bhoicht ó lámha lucht déanta an oilc.
## Briathar an Tiarna.
FR. Buíochas do Dhia.
## FREAGRA AN tSAILM
Éist liom de réir do bhuanghrá, a Thiarna
## AN DARA LÉACHT
Sliocht as litir Naomh Pól chuig na Rómhánaigh. 5:12-15.
Tháinig an peacadh isteach sa tsaol fríd aon duine
amháin agus tháinig an bás isteach fríd an pheacadh.
Ar an dóigh sin, spréidh an bás fríd an chine daonna
uilig de bhrí go dearn achan duine peacadh. Bhí an
peacadh ar an tsaol sular tugadh an Dliomh ach ní
chuirtear an peacadh sa chuntas mura mbíonn an
dliomh ann. Mar sin féin, bhí an bás i réim ó Ádhamh
anuas go dtí am Mhaoise fiú amháin daofa sin nach
raibh ciontach i mbriseadh reachta mar a bhí Ádhamh.
Bhí Ádhamh ina shamhail ar an té a bhí le teacht. Ach
bhí an tabhartas nios fearr na an choir. Mar, má fuair
cuid mhór daoine bás de thairbhe choir an aon duine
amháin is fairingge go mór ná sin a bhí grásta Dé agus
an tabhartas a bronnadh ar mhórán fríd an aon duine
amháin, Íosa Críost.
## Briathar an Tiarna.
FR. Buíochas do Dhia.
## ALLELUIA
Alleluia, alleluia!
Labhair, a Thiarna, tá do sheirbhíseach ag éisteacht;
Is agat-sa atá briathra na beatha síoraí. Alleluia.

# SOISCÉAL
Sliocht as an Soiscéal naofa de réir Naomh Maitiú.
10:26-33.
San am sin dúirt Íosa leis an dá chloigeann déag: “Ná bíodh eagla oraibh. Óir níl aon rud i bhfolach nach ndéanfar soiléir ná níl aon rud faoi cheilt nach mbeidh fios air. An rud a deirim libh sa dorchadas, abraigi i solas an lae é agus an cogar a chuirtear i bhur gcluais, fógraigi é ó bharr na dtithe.”
“Ná bíodh eagla oraibh rompu seo a mharáionn an corp ach nach dtig leo an t-anam a mharú. Bíodh eagla oraibh roimh an té a dtig leis an corp agus an t-anam a mhilleadh in Ifreann. Nach bhfuil sibh ábalta péire gealbhan a cheannacht ar phingin? Ni thitfidh gealbhan acu as an spéir gan fios a bheith ag bhur nAthair air. Maidir libh-se, tá achan ribe in bhur gceann cuntaiste. Mar sin de, ná bíodh eagla oraibh. Is mó is fiú sibh-se ná na céadta gealbhan.”
“Duine ar bith a admhós mise os coinne daoine, admhóidh mise an duine sin comh maith os coinne m’Athair atá ar neamh. Ach duine ar bith a shéanfas mise os coinne daoine séanfaidh mise an duine sin os coinne m’Athair atá ar neamh.”
Soiscéal an Tiarna.

Father's Day Prayer
God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own Fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; may they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
Why Sunday Matters
Our invitation to reflect on Sunday Mass is presented through the lens of Synodality - Communion, Participation, and Mission - reminding us that the Eucharist is not just a personal encounter with Christ but also a communal experience that unites us all as the People of God... Mass is not just a personal act of devotion; it is a communal act of worship. We go to God together. The Sunday Mass is where the Church is most visibly alive, and where every member of the community plays an essential role. Each person's participation is needed for the Church to truly live.
'We are deeply thankful to priests, ministers and all those who gather to celebrate Mass. Special gratitude goes to those involved in liturgical ministries, such as Ministers of the Word, of Holy Communion, Music Ministers, Sacristans, and Altar Servers. Encouraging the return of young people as Altar Servers is especially important and should be actively supported by their families and parish.
(Irish Catholic Bishops' Conference, Why Sunday Matters, 2025)

Today, Sunday 21st June, we celebrate the DAY FOR LIFE. We reflect on the wonder of human life from the moment of conception. To read the full Bishops' message, please visit www.councilforlife.ie
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ~ Today, we remember and pray for all Fathers. We ask God, our Heavenly Father, to bless you and help you to be faithful to your calling. May God grant eternal rest to all Fathers who have gone to their eternal reward.

## Reflection
In March 2018, Fr Tony Coote, a 53 year old Dublin priest, was diagnosed with the dreaded Motor Neuron Disease, and died 18 months later. Before his death he wrote an inspiring memoir about his life entitled *Live While you Can*. It became an instant best-seller. The final words of Tony’s memoir were: ‘When the train stops, I will step onto that platform with hope and no fear.’ The words ‘Fear not’ are the most frequent words spoken by Jesus to his disciples. In today’s gospel they occur three times. But what is Jesus really saying when he tells them not to be afraid? Certainly, he is not giving them, or us, the false assurance that we have nothing to fear. Down through the centuries, all true disciples of Jesus have met with opposition from those who benefit from the unjust *status quo*. In recent decades, violent persecution of Christians has been on rise. Speaking to diplomats on the 9th January this year, Pope Leo stated that ‘the persecution of Christians remains one of the most widespread human rights’ crises today, affecting over 380 million believers worldwide. They suffer high or extreme levels of discrimination, violence or oppression because of their faith’. According to the 2026 World Watch List (WWL) report, the number of Christians suffering persecution rose by 8 million over the past year.
In face of such opposition and persecution, Jesus urges his disciples not to allow their genuine fears to cripple them, but to continue to proclaim the truth of the gospel and to witness to him publicly. He assures them that the truth that the powerful elites try to cover up will eventually be revealed: ‘Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known’ (Mt 10:26). He reassures them of the Father’s love and care for them: ‘Even the hairs of your head are all counted’ (Mt 10:30). And he ends by making them this promise: ‘Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven’ (Mt 10:32).
So we pray: Lord, grant us the courage to stake our lives on the truth of your word. Amen.

# Day for Life 2026
Today, Sunday 21 June, the Church across Ireland celebrates Day for Life on the theme The humanity of the unborn child, which invites us to reflect on the wonder of human life from the moment of conception. To read the full bishops' message visit www.councilforlife.ie

MESSAGE OF THE HOLY FATHER TO PRIESTS on the Occasion of the Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests, The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. 12th June 2026
The union of our heart with Christ's Heart is not an experience reserved for a select few; rather, it is a sacramental, Eucharistic journey that unfolds each day of our lives. Dear brothers, by our ordination we have been configured to Christ, yet we must always renew within ourselves the gift of grace through our daily celebration of the Eucharist, prayer, meditation on the word of God and humble service to our brothers and sisters. Let us remain united to Christ in everything — in all that we do and in all that happens to us every day. Then the holiness that we have sought in vain through isolated efforts will reveal itself for what it is: a response to the grace that precedes, sustains and transforms us. Indeed, our humanity is not compartmentalised. Prayer, ministry, relationships, weariness, joys and failures — even time or love that apparently seems wasted — all become privileged places where God reveals himself and his infinite love.
The priest who has an upright, simple and pure heart can be contemplative in the midst of action, merciful and faithful in times of trial, and joyful in the gift of himself. The world greatly needs pastors who offer more than simply words or programs; it needs the living witness of a reconciled heart that exudes the sweet fragrance of Christ's holiness.
THE BUST OF PARDE PIO will be back in St Crona's Church from this Wednesday evening at 7pm and remain there till 7pm Sunday evening. There will be a prayer service to welcome the Bust back @ 7pm Wednesday.

# A Prayer for Peace
God of peace, Father of all, in this hour of fear and violence, draw near to every family living under threat.
Protect the innocent, shelter the displaced, comfort the grieving, heal the wounded, and strengthen all who bring relief and care.
Turn the hearts of leaders from pride and anger.
Give them wisdom, restraint and courage, that the weapons may fall silent and honest negotiation may begin.
Save the people of the Middle East from a widening war.
Guard Christians and all religious minorities, and keep hatred from hardening into lasting division.
Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, make us peacemakers in our homes, our schools, and our communities.
Bless our prayers and sacrifices, and let them bear fruit in mercy, justice and reconciliation.
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, protector of families, pray for us.
Saint Francis of Assisi, pray for us.
Amen
